Breakfast Burritos

9 Oct

Our suite is full of theater nuts. We’re nuts for the theater, especially me and my roommate who cooks. We first bonded over rushing Gypsy and saw approximately 15 shows last year. We tried to student rush a show (2, actually) a few weeks ago and and had our first student rush fail EVER. And we were able to get into a show that was completely sold out for the entire run last year. This student rush fail was a little demoralizing even if it did indirectly lead to the creation of this blog.

ANYWAY, we decided to try again with A Steady Rain, starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. I liked it more than the rest of suite. We all agreed it wasn’t the worst play we’ve ever seen, nor the best. But those two men aren’t hard to stare at for 90 minutes. Just speakin’ the truth y’all. My roommate who cooks and I are usually the ones who get up early to go stand there for two hours. However, school gets in the way of these things sometimes. So my other roommate and I suited up in our cardigans and sweatshirts to stand in the cold. My roommate felt bad and since she’s up early and cooking anyway, she graciously made us delicious breakfast burritos and hot chocolate to go.

Breakfast Burritos. Serves 4.
INGREDIENTS:
2 chicken apple breakfast sausages (pre-cooked)
1/4 cup cheddar cheese
6 eggs
4 flour tortillas
salsa
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1. Dice sausage and brown in pan. Also, shred cheese.

Step 2. Beat eggs and our into pan with brown sausage and scramble.
Step 3. Cover tortillas in plastic wrap on a microwaveable plate and warm for 30 seconds.
Step 4. Scoop a quarter of the egg-sausage mixture on to each tortilla.
Step 5. Top with shredded cheese and salsa.
Step 6. Wrap up and eat.

The burritos were still warm when we got to the theater, as was our Whole Foods’ Hot Chocolate. We got our tickets. Student Rush WIN.
