Bite-Size Bacon and Gruyere Scones

13 Nov

These scones go fast. I don’t just mean the making of them either. I mean the impressive consumption of them that occurred at about light speed. They were inhaled. By me. By my roommates. Not by anyone else though – there was no sharing of these glorious breakfast bites. Someone would have had to stage a pretty impressive sneak attack to get their hands on some of those scones. It’s certainly not surprising that we ate them all, or that no interloper got a hold of them. Why? Because they have bacon in them, obviously. And I would probably defend bacon foodstuffs with my very life or least a skillet. But you know what else they have? Cheese – and not just any cheese mind you. Gruyere. It’s Swiss and awesome. It keeps these scones from being anything but neutral. We should know. This isn’t our first Swiss cheese filled bacony rodeo.

Be Still My Heart

Bacon – made all the better by the inspired addition of cheese, gruyere to be exact. Together these two excellent ingredients meld to make something perfect. Well, you’d knew I’d say that as I am a firm believer that bacon, is, in fact, the perfect food. Non-believers go elsewhere. Lovers of turkey bacon step aside (apologies to my own roommate). The Perfect Food

Bacon. Do not argue with me. Good bacon is, in fact, PERFECT. My apologies to every Jew, everywhere (including my roommate) – your people missed the boat such salty, sweet (albeit unclean) goodness that my heart weeps for you every time I hear the word kosher. Though, my roommate is not actually kosher. She’s just nuts and dislikes the one food that can improve absolutely ANYTHING. However being the wonderful roommate she is, she has embraced my own love for bacon and allows me to gleefully cook with it in our apartment – which usually means she says something like, “Yes, you can cook that chicken corn chowder in the same pot you cooked the bacon in.” Additionally she bought me one of these for Christmakuh. SOOO tasty. I had previously enjoyed the milk chocolate and bacon bar from Vosges, but this dark chocolate bar was even better. Are you too a bacon enthusiast? Well, you’re in LUCK!
